The major function of Rolling Thunder is to publicize the POW/MIA issue.  To educate the public that many American Prisoners of War were left behind after all previous wars and to help correct the past and to protect future veterans from being left behind should they become Prisoners of war Missing In Action.
We are also committed to helping American veterans from all war.

USO (style) Show To Say Thank You To Our Veterans

CALLING ALL VETERANS!  Put on your dancing shoes because the “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from Company B” is coming back to town!!!

We will be hosting our 4th annual G.I. Dame’s USO (style) Show at the American Legion located on Route 109 in Sanford/Springvale, Maine.  This event is hosted by the G.I. Dames partnering with  the American Legion and the Amvets of Sanford, Maine.  The date will be Saturday, October 23, 2010.  The entire event is held to say THANK YOU to all of our Veterans for their service to our Country.  Doors will open at 11:00 am and the event will kick off at 11:30 with a buffet followed by music and dancing until about 5:00 PM.  In the middle of the show there will be a special tribute to all of our Service Men and Women that is sure to bring a tear to your eye.   After the tribute, we will continue with the show till the end.  During the entire show, there will be drawings for prizes that have been donated by many different companies and individuals from as far away as California.    Merchants, organizations and individuals from all over Maine are getting involved with this event by either donating their time, services or product to the show.

This entire event is made up of over 50 volunteers and is put on FREE OF CHARGE.  It is open to any Veteran and one guest each.  Space is limited so it will be first come first serve (no reservations) as we enjoy a wonderful fun filled day that is designed to give thanks to the BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN OF OUR ARMED FORCES!!!    Get there early to get into the drawings, although the tickets for the drawings are free, the ticket table opens at 11:00 am and closes at 3:00 PM.  The drawings will be held throughout the event and will continue right up until the end of the show for everyone.  (YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN ANY DRAWING AT THE SHOW).  There will be a several special drawings and a grand prize (at the end of the show) which will be for VETERANS only, as well as other prizes drawings that will be for everyone in attendance.

Although this show is to thank ALL Veterans, we will start this year’s show with a tribute to our WWII and Korean War Veterans.

This is our way of giving just a little back to those who have given so much to our Country.

Everyone is working extremely hard to make it a picture perfect day for our Veterans.
